Meat products, mainly pork products (especially \u201cjamon serrano\u201d) together with vegetables and wine.<\/p>\n

Some of the specialities of this area are the \u201cmigas\u201d (fried crumbs of bread), \u201ccocidos\u201d and \u201cpotaje\u201d (traditional Spanish stew with meat, vegetables and legumes), \u201cremoj\u00f3n\u201d (salad with cod and orange), \u201chormigos\u201d (stew with potato, meat and beans), almond soup, or the famous \u201cplato alpujarre\u00f1o\u201d (Alpujarran dish), that depending on the area might contain: black pudding, pork loin, potatoes, fried eggs, and jam\u00f3n serrano of La Alpujarra.<\/p>\n

The sweets of this area are characteristic as well, with some of the most famous desserts having a Moorish origin, such as the \u201csoplillos\u201d (a sweet with almonds), \u201croscos\u201d (bread rolls), or quince jelly<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
